Hello, my beautiful friends and welcome back to the Confident Magnetic and Wealthy Podcast. I have a great episode for you today. It's a bit of the foundations and fundamentals on the subconscious mind that I think everyone should really have a good grasp on, especially if you're going to be on a lifelong endeavor of constantly upleveling your life and growing yourself inside and out. So if you haven't yet learned how to use your subconscious mind to break through your income ceiling, this episode is exactly for you.

Today I am gonna cover what the subconscious mind is, how it gets programmed. How we work with it in a practical way to break through our upper limits how we achieve our big audacious goals, thanks to our subconscious mind and how the subconscious and the nervous system operate as one team.

And lastly, I'm gonna teach you how to audit what's running in your subconscious right now so you can achieve the outcomes that you want to experience.

I want you to walk away from this episode with an understanding of how to use the power of your subconscious mind. So no matter where you are on the income spectrum, whether you're working toward your first consistent five figure month, or you're pushing through a six figure ceiling, or maybe navigating a stretch into multiple six figures.

I need you to understand that the subconscious mind is the operating system behind the results you're seeing.

And when you don't understand how it works, it's easy to believe that your lack of results is because of something that's external to you. When it's actually a lot more empowering to know that your results are directly correlated to what's running in your subconscious mind.

And when you own that, you can then be in a better position to influence the results that you actually want to see.

[00:02:34] What the Subconscious Actually Is

I want you to imagine that your brain is split into two parts and each part has a completely different job. The conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is the part you're most familiar with. It's responsible for thinking, logic, planning, willpower, and decision making.

It's in the conscious mind where you establish goals, like, I want $20,000 months, or I want to double my business this year, or perhaps I wanna become a recognized public figure. The conscious mind is where you decide what you want. Now the subconscious mind determines whether you actually get to have the things that you consciously decided that you wanted.

The subconscious mind is where you store your beliefs, everything that you believe about what's possible, beliefs about your self-worth, beliefs about what someone like you is allowed to have.

It's also responsible for keeping you safe, and it runs your habits, your behaviors, and the patterns that you've practiced for so many times that they've become automatic, like brushing your teeth.

That is a subconscious habit and pattern. You don't really have to think too much about doing it because you've done it so many times. The subconscious is the part of your brain that runs on autopilot, and the subconscious

also stores every single experience that you have ever had, like a Rolodex of your life and everything that you've ever experienced is filed away for reference, along with every emotion and every feeling associated to each of those experiences. Now, let me give some data to back this up for my analytical ladies.

Research tells us that the conscious mind accounts for about 5% of our results. The subconscious mind is responsible for 95% of our results. The conscious mind processes about 40 bits of sensory information every single second. Meanwhile, the subconscious mind processes an estimated 11 million bits of sensory information every single second.

So how does the conscious mind determine which 40 bits of information to process that information is filtered by your subconscious, based on whatever files exist in your Rolodex? Here's an example of what this looks like in real life. So picture this. Two women, Sophie and Mariah, they're both solopreneurs, both in their thirties, and they're both trying to grow their coaching business.

Now imagine that they're sitting down to watch the same Ted Talk, and let's say that it's about building a personal brand and becoming more visible.

And then the speaker goes on to say something like, the people who win are the ones who are willing to be seen before they feel ready. They're both listening to this talk at the same time and processing the same 11 million bits of information. Sophie's Rolodex has a file that says I'm not where I need to be yet, and people will judge me if I'm too visible too soon.

So her 40 bits of information extracts, things like criticism is incoming. Wait until you're more polished, more certified, more established. Sophie watches the whole talk, and she nods along, very agreeable, and she feels inspired for a short bit of time.

But then she opens Instagram and then she sees someone who's much further along than she is, and quietly, she then decides that she needs to learn more before she starts showing up. She'll download another freebie. She takes another course. She stays in preparation mode. Now, Mariah's Rolodex has a file that says My story is already enough, and she also has a file that says, visibility is how my people will find me.

Her 40 bits of consciousness extracts things like, this is my permission slip. I'll start now and become a pro within a year, and done is better than perfect. Mariah opens up her notes app. She records a voice memo of three content ideas that just hit her as inspiration.

And within 48 hours, she posts it on Instagram and threads and all the social medias. And one particular piece of content lands her a DM that turns into a discovery call for her business. So what's the takeaway from this example? The subconscious mind is not a small background player. It's the operating system that determines everything you experience, what you feel, and what you're capable of seeing.

So when your conscious desires and your subconscious programming are not in alignment, the operating system has the final say every single time.

[00:07:11] The rulebook of the subconscious mind

Now I want to give you the single most important thing that you need to understand about how the subconscious operates, because once you understand this, so much of your own behavior, things that maybe may have felt like self-sabotage or confusion in the past is going to start making complete sense after this.

your subconscious mind has one rule book, and there's only two rules in this rule Book number one is familiar equals safe, and number two is the unknown equals danger.

That's the entire operating logic behind your subconscious mind, And it doesn't matter whether the familiar thing is actually bad for you. Or that it's outdated or that it's no longer benefiting you in your current state of life. It doesn't matter to the subconscious mind that the unfamiliar thing would actually change your life for the better. The subconscious.

Isn't making a logical judgment. Remember, the conscious mind makes logical calls, but the subconscious mind is making its judgment based on safety

And safety to the subconscious mind simply means, have we been here before? and what do we know about this type of situation based on what's in the Rolodex of past experiences. That's it. So when you set a goal to double your business revenue this year, you do that with your conscious mind.

Your subconscious then goes into your Rolodex and pulls up all the evidence files against that goal, evidence files that read. If you double your business revenue, then you'll lose connection with your family because when you were younger, you learn that successful people are selfish and greedy. It'll also pull up the file that says, remember that time in kindergarten when you were excited to show your new toy to the class and they made fun of you and rejected your toy?

And then there's the file that says You've never done this before and there's a chance you'll lose it all. So let's preserve your energy and protect you from future pain instead. And then the other file says, here's more evidence of where you feel self-doubt, worry, guilt, and shame. Which means it's really not safe to have this.

So with all of this evidence stacked against your goal, you're going to stay exactly where you are.

[00:09:31] How the programmin gets installed

So by now you might be wondering where does all of this programming come from? Research identifies the first seven years of our life as the primary window for subconscious programming.

During those early years, the brain operates predominantly in a theta brainwave state, and in that state, the mind is. Essentially an open file or a sponge absorbing everything. So from ages zero to seven, your brain absorbed everything from the environment around you. Without question, everything from what the adults around you said about money, what they believed about wealth, whatever experiences you saw around career success, what your caregivers believed about successful people, what they believed about, who gets to succeed and who doesn't.

Even the movies and TV shows you watched left an imprint around how to perceive certain life experiences. You also absorbed all of the emotions associated to all of those life experiences, emotions about safety and danger and belonging, and so much more.

The important thing to understand here is that this programming wasn't chosen by you, but it also wasn't installed by your caregivers to harm you in any way. The programming you inherited was passed onto you by people who were running their own inherited programming and doing the best that they could with it.

So you inherited programming that had been running on loop for generations. And now my friend, you get to decide what programs and beliefs no longer align with the life you're designing.

From that point, you can then begin to make decisions around what programs and beliefs would be more useful to have as you intentionally design your life.

[00:11:18] The nervous system connection

Now I want to bring in another important piece that you should be aware of, and it's the one that most approaches to subconscious work leave completely out of the conversation.

The subconscious mind and the nervous system are not separate systems. They operate as one full team. The subconscious mind holds the beliefs and the memories and the body holds the sensations. And when the subconscious identifies something as a known, like a new income level, a new level of visibility, a version of success that has no file in the Rolodex, it alerts the nervous system to pump the brakes.

And you feel it. You feel it as a wave of overwhelm that shows up right When things are going well as frustration that really doesn't have a clear source in your body and you're wondering, where is this coming from? It shows up as doubt that arrives just when you're taking the next big step. It might feel like fear that disguises itself as logic as a sudden urgency to figure everything out before you can move forward, or even anxiety before you engage in a simple task in your business.

And when that overwhelm gets loud enough, the conscious mind, the part of your brain that only operates 5%, goes completely offline and it can no longer think clearly, plan effectively, or make the decisions it would make from a grounded state.

And the moment the conscious mind goes offline, the subconscious takes over completely and returns you to whatever it knows as familiar. This is your internal thermostat. Everyone has one. It's the set point that your system has decided is familiar, safe, and comfortable, such as the income level you're accustomed to, the amount of success you allow yourself to have.

The level of ease you let yourself experience, and anything beyond that set point will trigger the pullback. The pullback happens because the thermostat is trying to do its job. To keep you in the zone, it recognizes as safe. I've watched this play out in so many different ways. Like

Someone has her best month ever more money than she is seen at one time and within weeks maybe, sometimes even days. Something happens to bring the bank balance down. Things like a big bill will appear. Tires need replacing a reason the money needed to go somewhere.

Just shows. And from the outside it might look like she's really bad with money. But truly what's actually happening is the nervous system is doing exactly what a thermostat does. Returning the temperature back to the set point, back to what it was programmed to be set to.

This is where the subconscious beliefs make themselves known and they reaffirm themselves a belief like people like me don't get to have that. And this is why somatic work, like breath work and EFT isn't just a wellness practice.

in this context, we need the somatic work to work alongside the subconscious reprogramming so we can teach the body what a new set point feels like.

the mind and body work is so important.

[00:14:34] Auditing the subconscious mind

So now the practical question is how do you know what is actually programmed in your subconscious? Since by definition it's operating below your conscious awareness. My honest answer is that your subconscious is always showing you the results in your life are the most truthful audit available to you in this very moment.

There's a difference between your conscious desire and your unconscious reality. Your conscious desire is what you say. You want the income number that you've become very clear on the vision board you created, the number of days you want to work, how you want your business to work for you, and your unconscious reality is what keeps showing up in the actual results of your life.

Now that you have a better grasp on how your mind was programmed, you're now ready to audit those programs and identify if these programs are aligned with the life that you're actually designing moving forward. Remember those early experiences, even the ones you can't fully recall consciously, they're woven into the operating system that's running on autopilot right now in the background of your financial life.

[00:15:45] Journaling prompts

So journal on these questions. What did money look like, sound like, and feel like in your home growing up? What did you watch happen when there was more money than expected? Or when there was less money than expected? What conclusions did the youngest version of you draw about? What kind of person has money and what kind of person doesn't?

And which one did you believe that you were?

and once you've journaled on that, write down your target income, what you want your income to be. And then without criticism and without any shame, I want you to get genuinely curious about what would have to be true about someone who isn't yet earning what she wants to be earning.

What would have to be true about someone earning her ideal income and insert your goal in there. So in this little practice here, what we're looking to uncover are. Beliefs, like more money changes how people see you, and maybe part of you isn't sure that that change is safe or a belief that earning beyond what your family earned means separation, or perhaps that visibility at a higher level means exposure, and exposure has never historically felt safe in your body, or perhaps a pattern of over-delivering and undercharging that keeps the actual number low no matter how hard you work.

So by now, are you seeing how the answers to the first couple of journaling prompts are influencing your current beliefs about your income goal? These are the programs you inherited, and now that you're aware of them, you can rewire them.

I wanna come back to where we started because I need you to understand why I'm so passionate about this work, why this is the work that I'm here to do. When I finally understood that my results weren't a reflection of my worth, but they were a reflection of my programming, and that programming could actually be changed, it felt like the most important discovery of my life.

And I remember sitting with it and feeling something close to grief because I thought, why didn't anyone tell me this earlier? Why didn't my parents have access to this? Because if they had access to this information, so much of what we experienced as a family could have looked so different. We could have avoided so much suffering and so much pain.

And that's why I do what I do. That's why this podcast exists because I want you to have what I didn't have access to for most of my life, which is the clear, grounded, science backed understanding that the operating system is always running and you are not at its mercy. You can learn the language of the mind and you can update it to actually serve you instead of hinder you.

the subconscious mind is not your enemy. It's the most loyal, most protective system that you have. And it's been doing exactly what it was designed to do with the programming. It was given, and now, now you get to give it something new.

[00:18:55] The modalities & tools available to you

And thankfully we have a variety of modalities available to us to accelerate the reprogramming process, to help us break through our upper limits. And this is why I feel, in part, so much frustration that more people don't know about these modalities and tools because we could. Eliminate all of our limiting beliefs and live much more prosperous lives if we just leaned on these tools and modalities to dissolve all of our inner resistance.

But a reality that I've had to face is that some people don't want to let go of their limiting beliefs. Some people are very much attached to their unhelpful emotions and the inner resistance because it's become so ingrained in their identity that they don't know any other way to operate. So a reality in which the limiting beliefs no longer exist, and all you can see is abundance is unfamiliar territory.

Someone who doesn't know what it's like to live in a reality in which there is endless possibility, and you can go after everything you desire and really, truly believe in your bones and in your heart, that you are worthy and deserving of it all. That's, that can be scary to someone who's never truly experienced that.

But I'm here for you and if you are ready to do this work, please do reach out to me. And I want to give you an overview of what those tools and modalities are so that you know what is available to you and lean into the one that you feel calls to you the most in this particular season of life.

But just know that they're always available to you. So let me walk you through what those are.

[00:20:46] Modality # 1

The first is hypnosis. Hypnosis allows us to slow the brainwave activity down into that same theta state that the mind was in during the first seven years of our life. That deeply receptive state that we talked about earlier at the beginning of this podcast.

That's what we do with hypnosis, and this allows us to go beneath the conscious filter and install new beliefs, a new identity and new emotional responses at the level where the programming actually lives and where it's started.

[00:21:20] Modality #2

Then we have neural linguistic programming, or NLP. This allows us to work with the language patterns, the thought patterns, and the behavioral patterns that the subconscious has been running on autopilot and.

With NLP, we can consciously interrupt, reframe, and rewire them into patterns that actually serve the life that you're building. I recently worked with a client who believed she was bad with money. She said to me, quote, I'm bad with money

And using NLPI helped her change how she was seeing that belief. And after we finished the process, she said to me, that's no longer true about me. I, I just don't believe that anymore. within a few weeks, she experienced several manifestations around money.

Some sponsorships came through, unexpected clients came through, and additional ways of her monetizing in her business came through almost with no effort. she finally released that inner resistance that was in between her and the very thing that she wanted. Okay.

[00:22:27] Modality #3

Then we have EFT Tapping. It's also known as emotional freedom techniques, and this technique allows us to work with the body directly, so we tap on specific meridian points while holding an emotion or a belief in our mind and that activity.

Sends a calming signal to the nervous system, and it begins to neutralize the emotional charge that we have attached to old memories, fears, and stuck patterns. So they lose their grip, and then we make space for more empowering thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.

[00:23:01] Modality #4

Next we have neural energetic encoding, which allows us to go back through the subconscious Rolodex to the root of where a limiting belief or an unhelpful emotion was first installed.

We release it at the source and we return to the present with a clear emotional slate and a new perspective on what's possible going forward. Personally, I used neural energetic encoding to release a really deep seated guilt that I felt my entire life that was associated to my mom giving birth to me at 17 years old and all that she had to give up because of me.

The, the unconscious guild was always in the background of my life. It never let me truly fully enjoy my successes. And thanks to neural energetic encoding, I was able to understand the root of that guild, what it was trying to tell me at the subconscious level. And it helped me understand how my subconscious had programmed this GU and created meaning across my life.

And from that place, I was able to extract the positive learnings. Alchemize that guilt and completely release it and dissolve it. And after that session of neural energetic encoding, after about 20 or 25 minutes, I felt more peace than I had ever felt in my entire life. And now today, I can finally enjoy my successes without that heaviness that I used to feel.

I try sometimes to think about what life was like with that guilt, and it's almost like I can't really access it anymore because it's no longer part of my story, my identity. It just feels like a really distant memory that no longer affects me in this present day.

[00:25:02] Modality #5

The next modality is parts integration, and this modality allows us to work with the internal conflict that will sometimes show up as self-sabotage. So if you've ever said something like, part of me wants this and part of me keeps pulling back, or any combination of part of me wants or feels X, but part of me wants or feels y, this is a clear indication that you have an internal conflict with parts integration.

We bring those two parts into alignment so that you're no longer working against yourself. What we do is create an inner harmony within your body, and you will no longer feel like you're being pulled into two parts. You just feel whole and aligned and more free and clear to move towards your.

[00:25:51] Modality #6

And the last modality is one of my favorites.

It's resonance breath work. This allows us to regulate the nervous system and shift out of the fight or flight state that gets activated when the subconscious senses anything unknown or unfamiliar. And with consistent practice, it teaches the body what it feels like to be safe at a higher level of income, a higher visibility, and higher levels of success.

What makes resonance breath work different from more intense breath work that you might have experienced in the past, like the three part breath work of inhale belly, inhale chest, exhale mouth. Is that with resonance breath work, I work with you to find the specific breathing pace that feels most natural to you and most comfortable so that we can make the biggest change.

And the shift feels a lot more gentle than what you might have experienced in the past. So if you're interested in experiencing these modalities, just as a reminder, the link to work with me is in the description below.

What I want you to leave this episode with is this. The thing between where you are and where you wanna be is not always another strategy. It is very likely that it's your existing subconscious and nervous system programming. Even when you've amassed incredible success and achieved your biggest income goals, you're never truly done working with your subconscious or your nervous system.

So anytime you find your yourself hitting up against a ceiling, an upper limit. I want to invite you to default to working with your subconscious programming before another strategy, or perhaps in the future it might be truly another strategy, but can we practice a pause before diving into another strategy, another course, hiring someone to come into your business and overhaul your operations.

Let's practice first a pause. And think about, is this something that I need to process internally that I need to look at within myself? Or is this truly something that is operational in nature within my business? I want you to remember that you're running on software that was written before you were old enough to have any say in it.

But now after this episode, you're wise enough, you're willing enough, and you are ready enough to update all of that programming, and I want you to know that your next income level isn't waiting for you to figure out the right strategy. Your next income level requires you to feel safe enough to hold it, to fully believe in your body, that you're allowed to have it and to become from the inside out, the version of you that recognizes that this new level of wealth is familiar.
